High School Life

How much do you remember about your high school life? Here are bits and pieces of my high school life:

Freshman Year:

  • We used to have a classroom that when the whole class would jump at the same time, the whole building would collapse.
  • We made a mini-basketball court at the back of the classroom, balls are made of crumpled paper.
  • I used to inscribe the word “Duff” on all the armchairs of seats assigned to me.
  • We had two Fil-Am classmates; Roseller Zeta and Robert Elkington
  • I had a crush on Emily Solana
  • We played “sipa” every morning, lunch time and afternoon
  • Once, I had to go home during lunch break to take a shower because I drank too much Punch
  • Suzanne once pushed me so hard towards the blackboard that I suffered an asthma attack because I sniffed chalk dust
  • The groups SHAQ and SACARY were formed
  • We managed to make all our teachers either cry or walk out on our class
  • They said our building was haunted
  • We used to play with BB Pellet Guns
  • Sometimes we would shoplift Pop Cola’s and Siopao’s
  • I was in the “Paul” section

Sophomore Year:

  • Heterogeneous sections were used for half the school year
  • I once fell off a chair because I was rocking it
  • I used to sleep during Filipino and Math subjects
  • We had a crush on Ms. Nancy Co
  • I used to spray paint the word “Pinya” all over the campus in neon orange color
  • I shaved my head (for the first time)
  • Dropped the idea of courting Emily (basted), turned my attention to Apple
  • Got depressed about my grades lowering during the second quarter
  • Got sent to the Guidance Counselor’s office for a prank I did
  • Seen so many kinds of nippies during the Student Council elections
  • A new guy was added to the group; Vladimir Santillan
  • I was in the “Timothy” and “Jude” sections

Junior Year:

  • Joined the COTC (Cadet Officers Training Corps)
  • Was given the nickname “Captain Planet”
  • Got involved in a gang war that started with a volleyball and a face and lasted for about 2 hours
  • Dancing La Cumbia and Swing were afternoon hobbies
  • Got sent to Tanay, Rizal for the Red Cross Youth Jamboree along with Karen, Chris, Potsie and Mara
  • Fresh blood were Maribeth Lagman, Cho Fontanilla, Ardee Ponce and Drei So
  • Tried out to be part of The Zion team just for fun and I passed the application
  • I was Assistant Literary Editor for The Zion
  • I was a delegate for the Philippine Math Olympiad along with Christine Sicat
  • Did a classroom skit with Apple and Grace, the theme song was Somewhere Down The Road by Barry Manilow
  • Our class got into some stints with Sir Joselito Maun
  • Went to TAPSA as an athlete for
